Image
1.      There's a near lack of governance in the state, Cross River state has descended from being the people's paradise to imperial state. 2.      Cross River is no longer that once acclaimed cleanest state in Nigeria, as our city have degenerated into a slump 3.      Investors have been chased out of the state has a result of irrational and multi-tax regime of the government. 4.      Pensioners are hungry and some are dying from minor aliment due to nonpayment of their pension areas and gratuity 5.      The bailout fund given to states by the Buhari's led APC administration have been bailed out to unknown quarter 6.      The Local Government system has completely collapsed as state government have refused to conduct local Government elections 7.      None payment of  primary school teachers and Local Government  employees 8.      The failu...

Esuene stadium,  Calabar. Bolaji was recieved by the National Chairman of the party,  Comr. Adams Oshiomole,  who assured them that they have made timely decisions as the unbrella was already torn. Bolaji while speaking at his defection noted that the APC has presented a fine candidate in the person of Sen. John Owan Enoh and he was driven by necessity to join hands as a statesman in the birth of a new Cross River and to support the goodworks of President M. Buhari in Cross River. "Mr president, you will get the results of our joining the party on the 16th of Feb and 2nd of march" he added.

12 Questions Owan Enohs's aide Wants Cross Riverians to Ask Ayade

Image
Twelve Questions Cross Riverians Must Ask Ayade as he comes to seek thier vote. Politics has no relations to morals they say, but does that imply that we do away with accountability too? Indeed in 2003,  Donald Duke came with the message of "one good turn deserves another." In 2011,  liyel Imoke had "Consolidating the gains, guaranteeing the future" respectively as campaign theme for their relection bids. You will agree with me that thier tourism drive and rural developmental strides had already given us a clear picture of what to expect within the next term. But today, we are presented with a government that came to us in 2015 with loud and clear infrastructural promises that set our hearts jumping without attendant fulfilment eventually. Good enough, elections presents an opportunity for a period such as now to ask pertinent questions that will affect our outlook for the next four years. Dear Cross Riverians, as Ayade comes to your LGA to campaign, p...

Clash in Etung: APC to Ayade, You Visit Cultist but can't visit victims of Communual war; Read Press Release

Image
PRESS RELEASE CRS 2019: AS AYADE BEATS DRUM OF WAR The attention of the All Progressives Congress cum Senator John Owan Enoh's Campaign Organisation has been drawn to the Press Conference addressed by the Governor of Cross River State, Professor Benedict Ayade alleging that the governorship candidate of the APC, Sen. John Owan Enoh was stockpiling arms with which to ignite violence during the forthcoming governorship election in the state. This was consequently followed with a Press Release signed by Ayade's Chief Press Secretary and SSA Media, Mr. Christian Ita in which the governor was said to have directed the State Commissioner of Police to immediately commence a stop-and-search of all political parties' campaign convoys in the state for illegal arms. We wish to state categorically that the governor's claims are tissues of lies for which his government is notorious, concocted as a ploy to unleash violence on the state as he has seen the handwriting on the wa...

I will conduct Local Govt. Elections in Six months -Owan Enoh

Image
The Guber Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, in Cross River State  Sen John Owan Enoh has assured Cross Riverians that if elected Governor he will revive the Local Government administration in the state. Sen. John faulted the PDP and Gov. Ayade of killing the third tier of Government, and by so doing stalling grassroot development in the state. "If you make me your Governor,  I will conduct LGA election within 3 to 6 months,  so that we can attend to the basic needs of Cross Riverians,  like building bridges, markets, and get our people empowered for the first time since 1999,  our state has been without a functional Local Government administration, our councills are dead, nothing is happenning there, this government has killed everything in our state, from the Ranch, to mountain race, all this government does is mismanage and kill our state" Sen. John echoed across the Six LGA of the Central in his on going Governorship campaigns. Vote APC V...

C'RIVER CENTRAL SENATORIAL DISTRICT'S AFFIRMATION GALORE. "I thank you for supporting the APC and for supporting us to be in Government". This statement of fact by Distinguished Senator John Owan-Enoh at the Obubra, Etung, Yakurr and Abi Town Hall Meetings recently confirms the very fact of the statement of affirmation of support for the party to win the coming polls. Beyond this, it speaks of the massive support of the people of the Central Senatorial District towards the success of the APC government in waiting. The meetings witnessed massive turnout. In fact, available information has it that challenged by the huge success recorded by the people of the Northern Senatorial District in terms of turnout during their various meetings there, Stakeholders in the Central Senatorial District made extra efforts to beat the record of the North. The crowd at Yakurr,Abi and Obubra were huge enough to get Sen.Owan Enoh and all other candidates in the area a resounding vic...

The purported endorsement of Ayade by CAN, will not stop his defeat.- Victor Egba

Image
Re: Our attension has been drawn to another halloween endorsement meeting, purchased by Gov. Ben Ayade with our state funds. We will ordinarily not react to such lies,  as the Christian Association of Nigeria is a religious body, which should play an advisory role and not sell the conscience of the church for money, but we will give them a benefit of doubt since they have not issued a public statement to that effect. We understand that Gov. Ben Ayade and the PDP having perfected his art of deceit and lies also loves to be lied to and decieved or cannot decipher one. We therefore have no intention to not allow him decieve himself that the his endorsement by a set of money inspired clergy men will not stop his rejection at the polls. Sen. John Owan Enoh remains the choice of all ordinary Cross Riverians, as he embodies the Rescue of our state from the misgovernace,  abuse of power and neglect of responsibility by the Ayade led PDP administration. We charge CAN to issue...

Keep to your vow-dont campaign Owan Aide Victor Egba challenges Ayade

Image
Victor Egba,  a social media influencer, and media aide to APC guber candidate has called on the Governor of Cross River state and PDP Candidate Ben Ayade to not go against his promise not to campaign,  he wrote thus " You all will agree with us that Gov. Ben Ayade boastfully said on Camera that he already knew the results of the elections and he had no need to campaign. We are calling on all members of the public to please take the Governor seriously,  as this could mean first he has already conceaded defeat, or two he is perfecting plans to rig the elections as the ongoing collection of PVC pins and account numbers are on going to decieve Cross Riverians. I have receieved a number of distress calls from concern members of the public on what the implication of this vote buyo ing means. My response is simple,  the PDP imagined that by the electoral amendment they are pushing for in the national assembly through its mischief leader Saraki, they will have a...

*I will Renovate Government house Ogoja, and be closer to you- Owan speaks*

Image
The APC candidate has assured the people of the north and Ogoja that unlike Ayade who have abandoned the Government House residency in Ogoja, which should have brought government closer to the people of Ogoja and the north,  seeing that the distance from Calabar to Ogoja was quite far, he will be readily available to listen to the people and bring government closer to the people of the Northern senatorial district. "Ayade travels out and spends one month abroad,  I will have spent that same time with you,  even if its two weeks in the north,  and two weeks in the central, I will rebuild the Governors lodge in Ogoja, and be closer to you than you can imagine" Sen. John spoke while addressing Ogoja Monarch today. As part of his consultations with traditional rulers and ahead of the  town hall meeting and rally scheduled for the LGA and senatorial district. He was prayed for by the Monarch,  and Paramount Ruler of Ogoja HRH chief Buturu Godwin Odu Vi...

The reception of Owan in the north signs of better days ahead- Victor Egba

Image
Our people are not swayed by the rhetorics neither do we engage them in bragandish gramatical excercise. At best the Industalization drive is an ideological excercise, no 21st Century serious minded democracy is running a tailoring shop or wants to manufacture tootpick,  or Nylon. No serious minded government is trying to establish a movie industry, no reasonable government waits untill few weeks to elections to fix street lights when it knows it runs a metropolitan city. The Government of the PDP led by Ayade has in very clear and honest terms failed Cross Riverians, the roads in the northern senatorial district as well as other regions have surprisingly become death traps, our youths are not gainfully employed. Whereas we have continued to sing the Haleluyah of a Government because it pays our bills as Appointees. A tour around the North will tell you why the reception of the Candidacy of John Owan Enoh and the APC message of Better days resonates with the people. The choi...

Ayade have made campaigning in Obudu easy- Owan Enoh

Image
APC candidate for Cross River State have stated that the poor outing of Gov. Ayade has made it so easy to campaign in his hometown Obudu. Adding that if he was in power for the same time his opponents will lack anything to campaign with because of the work he will do. "Ayade has made campaigning in Obudu so easy, as we drove in someone said the only thing that makes you know you are in Obudu is the dust,  it is that bad,  the women call it Ayade dust or powder" I will complete those projects, because 'godforbid ayade wins,  he will not still complete them, he takes nothing seriously" Sen. John added that the Incumbents Governor who is trying to construct a road was doing so to avert defeat and for elections purposes. "You were elected for four years,  you were supposed to work for four years waiting for three years and ten months before starting a little job is deciet, and you don't decieve your people." Sen. John spoke while addressing a ...

Image
The APC guber candidate has stated strongly his desire to return the glory days of the Obudu Cattle ranch if elected Governor of Cross River state. Sen. John spoke in clear terms when he met with members of the traditional rulers councill of Obanliku LGA of Cross River state. As part of the artinery for the campaign. Sen. Fuel explosion! I am deeply pained, under Ayade our roads have become death traps: Owan Condoles families and Cross Riverians

Image
The APC guber hopeful,  Sen. John Owan Enoh has described the yesterday's fuel explosion as a very unfortunate occurence. Adding that despite the incunmbents Goverment lying about completing the Suoer highway, they have done nothing to avert the continuous falling of heavy weight vehicles due to the very terrible state of the roads. "I am deeply pained that yet again we have lost our people to such a preventable tragedy. Fuel tankers pose a serious danger to lives, and we still have a government that allows them to lie lethally on our roads, even in our metropolis city of Calabar,  because they collect illegal money and do not care about our peoples safety. I learnt the fuel tanker fell at Odukpani, if only we had good roads, and had a rapt emergency response system this unfortunate loss of lives will have been averted or mitigated. "This is a big loss for us all, my heart goes out to the family of those who have lost thier lives, may God strengthen you, and c...

Image
All Progressives Congress Cross River State Press Release Fuel Tanker Fire:APC Mourns Victims. The All Progressives Congress in Cross River State deeply mourns victims of the devastating fire incident along the Odukpani axis of the Calabar-Ikom Highway which occurred as a result of an explosion from a petrol tanker. The incident is reported to have killed some persons while also causing several losses in terms of personal effects among other things. As a people-oriented party we mourn these losses especially of humans just as we pray God to grant their souls eternal rest in the Lord's bossom. For those who sustained varying degrees of injuries, it's equally our prayer that they experience quick recovery from the injuries sustained. We call on relevant agencies of government to ensure speedy evacuation of the relics to allow free  flow of traffic. BASSEY ITA State Publicity Secretary. January 12,2019.

Image
The Governorship candidate of the APC has restated his commitment to a peaceful and violence free campaign. He spoke while adressing his campaign council, on the 11th of January 2019, at Joranny hotels. John spoke while reacting to information that the Governor had ordered all appointees from the north to return home and do mischief as the campaigns begin. However,  he explained that he also billled to address a press conference later today the 12th of Jan, before officially commencing campaigns. Talk Cross River garnered that the campaigns of Sen.John Owan Enoh and the APC in Cross River were billed to start from the northern senatorial district, which is also the incumbent Governo...

Viewers discretion advised: pictures of fuel explosion in Odukpani

Image
It was a sad day in Cross River, as a petrol tanker carrying fuel,  exploded at Odukpani local goverment area,  just few kilometers from the state capital after it fell. The explosion which has claimed the lives of yet to ascertained number of persons who came to scoop fuel is said to have gone on without the intervention of fire service or the police. Buharis' aide-Obono Obla appeals to Usani to support Owan

Image
Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Prosecution, has made a passionate appeal to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani, to sheathe his sword in the battle for the governorship ticket of the All Progressive Congress in Cross River State. The advice came on the back of the high court judgement in Abuja on Monday which dismissed the case filed by Usani challenging the APC over the election and acceptance of Senator John Owan-Enoh as the governorship flag bearer of the party in the state. He urged both the minister and his supporters in the party to sheathe their sword and now work for the victory of APC in Cross River State. According to Obla, the judgement “is indeed a welcome development and a great sign of relief for everybody! "I appeal to the Honorable Minister and his supporters to sheathe the sword and work for the victory of the Party in the governorship, National Assembly/State Assembly and indeed t...

We did not Endorse Ayade, it was just a meeting: Anthony Owan, Etung Monarchs

Image
The Vice chancellor of the Cross River state Uinveristy,  and elder brother to APC guber candidate John Owan Enoh,  has denied claims that he endorsed Ayade for a second term. This follows the outburst after pictures of his meeting with the Governor along side monarchs from Etung emerged. Contrary to the insinuations by PDP,  Anthony Owan said he was invited to a meeting of Etung stakeholders and more so the Governor was the visitor of the university, he added that the meeting though involved politics, he was not a politician, and will never endorse Ayade over Owan. " I think I was quoted out of context, our people say you cannot refuse an invitation, but you can refuse why you were invited." Meanwhile reactions have continued to trail the claim to endorsement,  with some Cross Riverians calling it a staged managed media show, to salvage the recent adoption of Owan Enoh as consensus candidate of 15 political parties, and a reaction of the Governor to the Victor...

Let's Win Cross River First, Owan entreats Usani after Court Verdict

Image
COURT VERDICT: Owan-Enoh Extends Olive Branch To Usani Sequel to the Monday January 7, 2019 declaration by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Apo, Abuja, presided over by Justice Olukayode Adeniyi rejecting the claim by my opponent, the Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani to being the governorship candidate of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in our dear state, Cross River, I hereby heartily invite Pastor Usani and his supporters to the larger APC fold in the state. Justice Adeniyi who delivered judgment on Usani vs APC, INEC & Owan-Enoh, actually dismissed the suit and asserted that: 1). Usani's case was found to be full of contradictory claims and forgeries. 2). Usani's affidavit in support of originating summons was unreliable. 3). Usani was found not to be an aspirant and his case  not justiciable in tandem with the laws of the party. 4). That Etim John's supervised primary was illegal and contrary ...

YOU WON’T REGRET VOTING US INTO POWER”-APC begs Cross Riverians

Image
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has reassured the Cross River Electorate that the incoming APC government at the State and Federal levels will improve on their fortunes in all ramifications. The party said the APC government waiting in the wings will restore confidence in the governance process and rekindle their hope in a better economy. In a statement signed by the state Publicity Secretary, Mr. Bassey Ita, the party said the “Rescue Agenda” of the Sen. John Owan Enoh led government in waiting in concert with the “Next Level” projection of President Muhamadu Buhari will yield tangible development options that will satisfy the yearnings and expectations of the masses. He said under the ‘Rescue Agenda’, Sen. Enoh has outlined some people-oriented programmes and projects that will ensure economic fortunes of the masses, infrastructural development and the fulfilment of destinies through security and social investment options among others. Anthony Owan's Endorsement Inconsequential-Simon Utsu

Image
ON CRUTECH’S VICE CHANCELLOR, PROF TONY OWAN-ENOH REJECTING HIS BROTHER AND ENDORSING AYADE This made the news few hours ago and was greeted by some fanfare. Does it really matter if Professor Anthony, who by the way was made VC due to the influence and lobby of this same brother(Senator John during Imoke’s tenure) he is now openly attacking, endorses him to be governor? What matters much more than anything is the people’s endorsement and most importantly, God’s endorsement!!! Couple of years ago, same scenario played out in Edo State where Governor Obaseki’s kid brother not only did not endorse him but also campaigned vigorously against him. How did it end? Obaseki will be celebrating his second year in office a couple of months from now. I interacted with Prof Owan-Enoh in September 2017 after an article I did on his poor handling of the welfare of a number of stranded CRUTECH lecturers who were doing their doctoral studies in the UK under the auspices of the Tertiary Education Fu...

Who Cares About Zonning- Victor Egba

Image
WHO CARES ABOUT ZONING. They comes a time where traditions, status quo, are utterly useless. Times where the forces of nature define the events of man, times where the it has been must be altered. In the flexibility of natural circumstances, genetic mutations occur, such spontaneous reactions that give rise to a new order. When Vladimir Lenin, led the Russian revolution, he believed in the truism, that no matter the force of established rules, nothing can stop an idea whose time has come. Dear Cross Riverians, we are now in that pre revolution era, the forces of tribalism, ethnic chauvinism, financial inducement, personal and selfish interest are laying bare its full monstrous heads, there is an economic divide, between the haves, and the haves not, a political separation between the what ought to be and what has to be, we are bedevilled with a totally sensitive nonsense such as the Zoning of the Office the Governor. There is a fundamentally radicalized school, that is rubbing mu...

Obudu Monarchs, Slams Ayade confers title on Zana, Adah

Image
The Unwa Ushie chieftency title was yesterday conferred on Rt. Hon. Paul Adah,  and Prof. Zana Akpagu worthy sons of Obudu. The title which is reserved for sons who have demonstrated achievements and worthy actions drew attendees from all works of life. Amongst whom were the deputy Governorship Candidate of the APC ntufam Ekpo Okon,  who also represented Sen John Owan Enoh. It was rather a point of question as the Governor who is a son of obudu, was niether invited or represented at the ceremony. This has generated a lot of speculations especially this political season, as a lot of people are already reading signs of rejection of the Government due to its adjudged poor performance. It is not a misplaced question to raise brows about his absence, seeing that this is a political season and such honours are seen as endorsement. Could they be more to this?

Ayade loses poll-you dont deserve a second term; Cross Riverians

Image
The Incumbent Governor has lost an online poll, the poll which asked Cross Riverians to decide if Ayade deserves a second term saw over 70% voting 'NO' This is a bad indication for an already unpopular Government, which is seen by majority as a decietful and insincere in its approach to governance. This is surely adding to the popularity of the APC gubernatorial candidate,  Sen. John Owan Enoh,  who is a strong contender for the seat in the 2019  general elections. If the poll reflects the will of Cross Riverians,  does that mean Ayade will lose? Or does it mean Owan is more accceptable? Surely 2019 has a lot to offer our imaginations. The poll was conducted by a Facebook user,  Sam Eba. TCR reports.

Your Industrialization Drive Is A Ruse.Simon Utsu fires Ayade

Image
I spent close to two weeks in Calabar and what I saw was a state in a state of pariah... Even its mainstay; the tourism sector, which climaxes in December is now a shadow of its former self! Forget what I wrote about the carnival some 10 days ago- trying to sound patriotic hence scoring it fair; the 2018 carnival 🎡 was the worst I’d witnessed! Do you know that secret cult groups had stands along the carnival route? Even the Xmas village which hitherto used to be a beehive of activities for a one month period(December span), was filled with empty seats 💺 throughout  the Yuletide. Another four years of Ayade will ground Cross River state for good! “Ayade is my Northern brother” my foot! Cross River deserves better! Support the opposition to kick Ayade back to Kakum, Obudu.

Billboard War- PDP calling for violence- SDP Dep Gov. Cand. Wofai Ewa

Image
This Billboard battle caused by the PDP-led Government in CRS will usher in Violence that will set the pace for VIOLENT elections. The PDP government has to stop playing into the hands of the APC who will gladly prefer the elections to be rescheduled to a new date where concentrated Federal Might may be deployed. Let someone please advice the incumbent. Once elections are rescheduled, the PDP cannot win CRS even if Professor Angel Michael is appointed the REC to conduct the elections.

Billboards War- Ayade billboards destroyed!

Image
In what seems to be a reprisal attack, Cross Riverians woke up to the destruction of all billboards of Gov. Ben Ayade. This is coming few days days after Sen. John Owan Enoh,  warned that he will take necessary action if his billboards were damaged again by suspected members of the PDP. However defying this warning the Cross River signage and avertisment Agency,  which is a parastatal under the PDP led government,  yesterday yet again took down all billboards belonging to the APC governorship candidate. Despite prove that he had satisfied all requirement of the said agency, which involved the payment of two milliona naira. While Sen. John Owan Enoh,  vowed to pursue his course with a protest,  it appears his supporters have taken the law to thier hands, this has ineveitably set the tone for the 2019,  General elections which is but two months away. Sad enough, it is obviously a Billboard war in Cross River.

Jungle Justice in Obudu- Princewill Odidi calls out Ayade

Image
A scene I ignored writing about, but it kept hunting my mind.  Yesterday, a young man inbox me questioning my silence on the matter. I felt so guilty. Maybe it is the soul of the murdered that is crying for justice. A young student in search of education in  strange land, do we teach our children to accommodate strangers or subject them to public execution? Did we apply enough caution before we threw Tyres on her? Those who lit the match, are they saints? Governor Ayade as the State Chief Security officer should investigate this and ensure justice is done. This jungle justice makes us cross riverians look like animals. It shows some amongst us are mindless. The heart of man is desperately wicked.  The allegations on her may be true or framed up. Remember in our country anything is possible. This is a fathers daughter, a sister and someone’s friend. But how could this happen in broad day light? Where was the authorities? Culprits maybe arrested and a few days later l...

APC CR reacts to Pulling down of Owan Bill boards

Image
All Progressives Congress Cross River State Press Release Re: Destruction of Our Candidates' Billboards and Posters. Our attention has been drawn to a media report credited to some officials of the People's Democratic Party which attempts to deny the involvement of its paid agents and or hirelings in the destruction of our party's Candidates' billboards and posters in parts of the state. This denial is in our consideration, spurious and a cheap attempt by the PDP to exonerate itself from the evil and criminal agenda it is  already known to perpetrate. We wish to emphasize here that much as this inglorious practice is inconsistent with the existing laws guiding the freedom of parties to campaign using paid advert spaces,we will as a law abiding party resist such attempt to further pull down our billboards and posters by hired agents of the PDP. We will therefore not accept such spurious claims and insinuations that a faction of our party is responsible fo...

Ayade Dares Owan; pulls down his bill board despite warning

Image
Just two days after the APC gubernatorial Candidate Sen. John Owan Enoh decried the destruction of his bill boards and the pulling down of others within the calabar metropolis, the Cross River State signage and advertisment agency has yet again taken down his bill board barely five hours after it was placed around the high quality bakery,  along marian road. Talk Cross River reliably gathered that the Governorship Campaign organization had met all requirement and paid fully a sum of two million naira to CRISAA to have them diaplay thier various advertorials. It can be gathered that Sen. John had in his press briefing last tuesday vowed a state wide protest if the government continues to use the machinery of CRISAA to deny it a chance to reach out to Cross Riverians. As at press time,  the DG of the campaign and Sen. John were yet to comment on the development. Meanwhile Cross Riverians have criticised the government for using state apparatus to stiffle democracy...
